2019 NATIONAL ARENA LEAGUE KICKS OFF ITS THIRD SEASON ON SATURDAY, APRIL 13
Two New Franchises Highlight the NAL’s 3rd Season; the New York Streets and the Storied Orlando Predators
Carolina Cobras Begin Defense of Their NAL 2018 Title at the Massachusetts Pirates
Season Culminates with NAL Bowl III on August 17
New York – March 4, 2019 – The National Arena League is proud to announce the schedule for its third season. The six team, fourteen-game slate begins the weekend of April 13 and features two new teams – the New York Streets and the storied Orlando Predators along with the defending champion Carolina Cobras, Columbus Lions, Jacksonville Sharks and Massachusetts Pirates.
In the season’s first week, on April 13, the defending NAL champion Carolina Cobras travel to Worcester, Mass., to take on the Massachusetts Pirates, while the Jacksonville Sharks host the expansion New York Streets, and the Orlando Predators make their return to arena football as they host the Columbus Lions.
In Week 2, the Columbus Lions host the Jacksonville Sharks in a rematch of the 2017 NAL Championship game, while the New York Streets play their first-ever NAL game as they host the Orlando Predators at the Westchester County Center in White Plains, New York.
The top four teams will qualify for the National Arena League Playoffs, which culminates with NAL Bowl III.
“I am excited to release the schedule for the 2019 National Arena League season,” said NAL Commissioner Chris Siegfried. “With the addition of two new teams, one in New York City and the Orlando Predators, perhaps the most famous name in the history of arena football, our third season is poised to be special.”
