Cobras sign Defensive Lineman / Linebacker Dwayne Beckford

GREENSBORO –  Dwayne Beckford (6’2,240) signed with the Cedar Rapids Titans in October, 2017 before joining the Carolina Cobras for rookie season of arena football. 

Beckford began his college career at Purdue as a linebacker where he appeared in 24 games for the Boilermakers. During his career at Purdue he amassed 209 tackles, 13.5 for a loss, 3.5 sacks, one forced fumble one interception. In 2011, he started in eight games and earned All-Big Ten Honorable Mention gaining a career high 91 single season tackles. Beckford returned to college football in 2015 where he finished his college career at Marian University. During his time at Marian, he was a three-time NAIA FCS Defensive Player of the Game playing in 11 games totaling 41 tackles, 13 sacks and 16.5 tackles for a loss. In 2016, Beckford went undrafted and attended the Pro Day with the Indianapolis Colts. 

Dwayne Beckford is a native of Irvington, New Jersey and attended Irvington High School.
